One of our main interests in this project has always been its usefulness for teaching prophecies. In fact, this has always been one of the project's premises: to present the prophecies in an easier way to understand, in particular, situating the prophetic events in time and history.
When we are involved in a process, it is very common that, over time, a little perception of the project's usability is lost. So, there is often some doubt about the ultimate purpose of a product. “Are we reaching the goal?” or, “are we still achieving the goal?” are some of the questions that may come up. :/
One way to check the efficiency of a project is to test the project itself. As we went along, we did a lot of small tests. Although being infographics for a book, we thought it was important to check that out. Some graphical solutions for the infos came from the testers' suggestions and the perception that the reading sequence at times could be improved.
In addition to these technical issues, every now and then I would talk to God more specifically. I often asked if things were on the right track. God never failed to respond in a very personal way. This was repeated many times, and the responses were always encouraging. I once said a quick silent prayer and asked God to answer me specifically about the usefulness of infographics. This time, my request was very specific. I asked for a technical answer that would involve the usability of the material. This is why I spent some time explaining usability at the beginning of this text. :)
A few days after my brief prayer, I received a message from a friend that said, "Hey, Flavio! How are you? We have to talk sometime so I can give you some feedback on the use of the infos in my Bible study." Let me explain: A few months earlier, I had lent some of the infographics to a friend who was teaching a young couple the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation. And now he was going to tell me how that went. Yes! You guessed right! This was a specific answer from God :) -- some technical feedback about the material. As soon as I received the message I was wondering if he was going to say something positive. After all, it could be negative, right? :(
Anyway, after a few days we met and talked about it. #fear The infos were used for the first time to teach the Bible and guess what? The test was successful! My friend Lucas told me he did two tests. In the first one he presented the info and explained the context. In the second one, he just placed the infographic on the table and let his two students venture through the infographic alone, figuring out the details. Fortunately they were soon able to understand the context of the prophecy. It worked! It really did! What can I say? God is good! :)
I thanked Him so much for such a specific answer. Thank you, Lord!
